Jeffrey Bensing

Jeff applies his extensive global customs & trade experience to designing and implementing client’s customs compliance, supply chain security and global sourcing strategies & programs.  Specific areas of expertise include customs compliance & regulatory management, global sourcing, supply chain security, AD/CVD, classification, valuation, quota and Intellectual Property Rights.  Jeff has over 30 years of trade & customs experience including 8 years with the U.S. Customs Service.

Prior to establishing Mercor Consulting, Jeff served as the Global Customs and Trade Manager for the International Trade Services Corporation where  he managed support for client’s import and export operations and advised on international customs compliance and trade strategies.  While at U.S. Customs, Jeff served in the Office of Strategic Trade, the Office of Management and on a detail to the Office of Congressional Affairs. He was a project manager and analyst working on issues related to company import compliance, risk management, the Automated Commercial Environment, international trade agreements and trade analysis methodologies. During his tenure at Customs, Jeff was awarded a yearlong position in WEL a Federal executive leadership-training program.

Jeff holds a Master of Arts in International Commerce & Policy from George Mason University, Fairfax VA, as well as a Bachelors of Arts in Political Science from The American University, Washington DC.
